Greenwich Pier Closure – Friday 24th November

About the Renovation Transport for London are conducting a major renovation of Greenwich Pier between November 2017 and March 2018. The renovation is expected to increase the pier’s lifespan by a decade and will involve the pontoons being removed in two phases. Some of the works which will be carried out include replacing the anchor chains, refurbishing the connection hinges between the pontoons, repairs to the main decks and a fresh coat of paint below the waterline Find out about the Greenwich Pier Renovation Pier Closures Greenwich Pier will be closed all day on Friday 24th November and for part of the day on Saturday 25th November. Friday 24th November 2018 – All Day Saturday 25th November 2018 – Pier Reopens at 12:00 Thames River Services There will be no Thames River Services trips to Greenwich on Friday 24th November, the pier is expected to re-open after 12:00 on Saturday 25th November. Services between Westminster Pier & Greenwich Pier will resume when the pier reopens on Saturday afternoon. Circular Cruise Westminster Circular Cruise Westminster will still be operating services from Westminster to St. Katharine Pier calling at Embankment Pier, Festival Pier & Bankside Pier. The lower saloon is home to a fully licensed bar serving a wide range of beers, ciders, wines, spirits, soft drinks & snacks. The bar accepts cash and card and drinks can be taken anywhere on board the vessel. The upper saloon is furnished with comfortable chairs and has 180-degree views. Toilet facilities are located on the reception deck between the upper and lower saloons.​ King Edward’s front deck and upper rear deck provide magnificent views at either end of the vessel. Charles Bowman will succeed our current Lord Mayor Andrew Parmley, who named Thames River Services newest vessel M.V Thomas Doggett earlier this year. If you are joining us for our Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Cruises in the afternoon please be aware that travel through the City of London will be extremely difficult due to the show.
