London Christmas Cruises

This winter join us for a festive Sunday Evening Cruise from Greenwich Pier. Our London Christmas Cruises depart at 18:00 & cruise upriver through Central London passing the cities famous landmarks & under the River Thames’ iconic bridges. About our London Christmas Cruises Our popular Sunday Evening Cruise returns at the end of November for four weeks of Thames Christmas Cruises. Our London Christmas Cruises are 2-hour Thames circular sightseeing tours departing Greenwich Pier at 18:00. The cruises operate on Sunday evenings for four weeks between Sunday 25th November & Sunday 16th December 2018. The cruise will take you from the Royal Borough of Greenwich upriver past some of London’s riverside sights before passing under a floodlit Tower Bridge to view the Tower of London. The cruise continues through the city travelling as far as time and tide will allow before turning and returning back to Greenwich to view the tea clipper Cutty Sark and if time allows, the Old Royal Naval College and the O2. Christmas Parties & Charters Christmas & New Year are just around the corner & we still have dates available for Christmas charters. Our fleet boasts a range of tastefully decorated, versatile party boats perfectly suited for private & corporate events on the River Thames. Our bespoke hospitality & delicious seasonal menus combine to create the perfect Christmas atmosphere on-board. From festive finger food like our Grilled Turkey & Stuffing Pitta to fine dining options like our Roast Norfolk Turkey or Wild Mushroom Strudel we really do have a dish for every occasion. All of our menus use locally sourced, freshly prepared & delicious ingredients which are perfectly complemented by our fine wine collection. Poached Salmon Rillettes with Keta Caviar Roast Norfolk Turkey with Traditional Trimmings, Cranberry Gravy Wild Mushroom Strudel with Oregano & Plum Tomato Sauce (v) Christmas Pudding with Brandy Sauce During the Christmas season our vessels are decorated with festive garlands, twinkling Christmas lighting & can accommodate up to 128 guests for seated dinners or 180 guests for standing receptions.

The Great River Race 2018 Great River Race Pier Closures Today is the 30th Great River Race. A number of river closures are in place throughout the day. Approximate closure times include: St. Katharine Pier | 10:25-11:25 Westminster Pier Pier | 11:05-12:05 There will be no departures from these piers during these times. After the race has passed Westminster Bridge services should return to the usual time table. About Thames River Services Thames River Services (TRS) have been operating daily sightseeing tours since 1986, our current service operates between Westminster Pier, St. Katharine Pier (for Tower of London) & Greenwich Pier. During the summer months we operate the only river tours to the Thames Flood barrier, departing Westminster Pier, St Katharine Pier & Greenwich Pier five times a day. Our vessels M.V London Rose & M.V Avontuur IV operate on these services along with M.V Thomas Doggett (owned & operated by TRS) and a collection of other modern & traditional vessels owned by our partners. Our popular Sunday Evening Cruise has been operating from Greenwich Pier for over 30 years. To celebrate this milestone we are starting the cruise on Sunday 6th May, three weeks earlier than last season. The lower saloon is home to a fully licensed bar serving a wide range of beers, ciders, wines, spirits, soft drinks & snacks. The bar accepts cash and card and drinks can be taken anywhere on board the vessel. The upper saloon is furnished with comfortable chairs and has 180-degree views. Toilet facilities are located on the reception deck between the upper and lower saloons.​ King Edward’s front deck and upper rear deck provide magnificent views at either end of the vessel. Charles Bowman will succeed our current Lord Mayor Andrew Parmley, who named Thames River Services newest vessel M.V Thomas Doggett earlier this year. If you are joining us for our Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Cruises in the afternoon please be aware that travel through the City of London will be extremely difficult due to the show.
