Below we’ve listed some of our most frequently asked questions for Thames River Sightseeing.
Will COVID-19 affect your cruises?
Thames River Sightseeing are operating on Saturday & Sundays from Westminster Pier, Embankment Pier, St. Katharine Pier & Greenwich Pier. We are operating a reduced timetable & we are not currently cruising to or from Festival Pier, Bankside Pier & the Thames Barrier.
The safety of our passengers & colleagues are our utmost priority, we have measures in place on-board our vessels & at each pier. Click the link below to find out more about our safeguarding measures.
What times are the departures?
Departures on the Blue Route are every 40-minutes during the Winter months & every 30 minutes during the Summer months. Cruises to the Thames Barrier are only available during the Summer months.
Cruises on the Pink Route vary between every 30 minutes, 40 minutes or every hour depending on the time of year.

How do I book Thames River Sightseeing tickets?
You can book tickets through this website (click the link below), through www.thamesriversightseeing.com or from our ticket offices located at each pier. You do not need to print your ticket if you book online.
How long is a trip from Westminster to Greenwich by boat?
A single cruise between Westminster & Greenwich Pier or vice versa takes between 40-60 minutes, a return takes approximately 2 hours.
How long is a trip from St. Katharine Pier to Greenwich by boat?
A single cruise between St. Katharine Pier & Greenwich Pier or vice versa takes between 20-30 minutes, a return takes approximately 1 hour.
How long is a cruise to the Thames Barrier?
A cruise from Greenwich Pier to the Thames Barrier takes approximately 1 hour.
A single cruise from Westminster Pier to Greenwich Pier via the Thames Barrier (or vice versa) takes 2 hours, a return takes 3 hours.
A single cruise from St. Katharine Pier to Greenwich Pier via the Thames Barrier (or vice versa) takes 90 minutes, a return takes 2 hours.
How long is a cruise on the Hop-On Hop-Off route?
A cruise from Greenwich Pier to the Thames Barrier takes approximately 1 hour.
A single cruise from Westminster Pier to Greenwich Pier via the Thames Barrier (or vice versa) takes 2 hours, a return takes 3 hours.
A single cruise from St. Katharine Pier to Greenwich Pier via the Thames Barrier (or vice versa) takes 90 minutes, a return takes 2 hours.
Can we disembark at a pier & continue our journey later the same day?
If you have a return ticket or a Riverpass you can disembark & take a later boat back.
Remember to check the time of the last boat with the crew & ticket agents.
Can we disembark at the Thames Barrier?
Only pre-booked groups can arrange to embark or disembark at Barrier Gardens Pier. Groups wishing to embark or disembark at Barrier Gardens Pier must book direct with Thames River Services.

Is there a commentary on-board?
We have a Wi-Fi Audio Guide available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German & Mandarin. This feature is available on selected vessels in the fleet. (Smart device & headphones are not provided).
I am unable to make my chosen date, can I rebook?
If you have booked tickets but are unable to attend you can email us at store@viscountcruises.com to request a transfer to a different date. Please note we are only able to transfer tickets booked through www.viscountcruises.com.
Do you offer group discounts?
We offer group rates starting at -10% for groups of 10 or more passengers. Groups can be booked online through this website (Deductions are applied automatically at checkout) or by contacting our sales team at Thames River Sightseeing: info@thamesriversightseeing.com.
Are the boats heated?
The saloons on-board our vessels are heated & have plenty of windows allowing natural light & excellent views outside.
Do the boats have open decks?
All vessels in the Thames River Sightseeing fleet have open spaces either at the front of the vessel or ontop depending on the design.
Do the boats have toilet facilities?
All vessels in the Thames River Sightseeing fleet have toilet facilities although not all vessels have an accessible toilet.
Do you serve food & drink on-board?
Some vessels in the Thames River Sightseeing fleet have bar facilities however we cannot guarantee or advise availability, opening times, menus or prices for these cruises.
